June 28 – St. Mary, MT
I want to get a note out letting everyone know we are fine. We’ve been very remote and off the grid preventing any updates.
We completed Going-to-the-Sun Road today in Glacier National Park today. It was magnificent.
I’m trying to post a teaser photo but experiencing very slow loading and this may not work. Please be patient. Thanks.
Carl- Glad you are fine and making progress. Once again, we love your blogs!

That is a spectacular route to take. We went to Glacier for my 70th birthday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had lived in Montana for five years as a child, but never got to Glacier. So my guys (husband and son) surprised me with a train trip to Glacier and it was worth the wait. Enjoy the rest of Montana, barren, flat but interesting. Ride safely.

That’s such beautiful country — spectacular, as others have said. Janet and I drove through there 44 years ago with then 1-year-old Vance, heading south from Calgary towards Yellowstone before hightailing it the rest of the way back East to Aunt Nelda’s 90’th birthday “celebration” with you-all.
So glad you’re enjoying Glacier NP. It’s such a worthwhile side trip.
PS – Sallie posted pics earlier in the day on FaceBook, so we knew you 2 were safe and on top of the world.
Might be my favourite place in USA – so glad you two seeing such gorgeous places on your mammoth ride ! We missed you both this evening at the Surf – happy trails…….
Thinking of you both on this magnificent journey.
