Still flying the Maple Leaf in Minnesota

By the way, I have a job idea for the border patrol officer that says I can’t display this flag. I know a tree service company in Idaho he can go to work for. He’d fit right in.
I love reading about ur adventures
Pedal on my friends. On my way to Iowa and RAGBBRAI.
I have been trying to follow your route on my AAA atlas… But last few updates have not given locations. Where do you get the route? Or do you just go where you seem to end up?
My wife and I ride a road tandem. Have you run into any tandems on your ride?
Jack in Florida.
Jack,
Thanks for your interest. We are following maps provided by the Adventure Cycling Association. The towns I list are only the towns where we stop and camp at night, so I can see where tracking us may be difficult. Adding to your tracking difficulty, ACA maps tend to place cyclists on small county roads whenever possible that have good shoulders and minimal traffic. They are also not designed for efficient travel (going from point A to point B), but highlight areas of interest and in so doing they zig-zag around a bit.
We’ve not yet seen any tandem riders on this trip but we’ve encountered them frequently on other journeys. Tandem riders must be very efficient in packing for two because pannier space is limited, but many do very well. We know a couple that have pretty much toured the world on their tandem.
